Lecturer: Professor. Sidney Altman, the Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry
Professor Sidney Altman, the famous molecular biologist, is the founder of RNA biochemistry, the Sterling Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Chemistry at Yale University. His discovery of “Ribozyme” has refreshed people’s recognition to biocatalysis matters, which provides the theoretical basis for researches on RNA’s capacity to replicate. He confirmed that the first living matter is the RNA that has the functions of biological catalysis and heredity, breaking the previous statement that protein is the first living matter.
Professor Altman has issued hundreds of theses in prestigious academic journals and published a number of books. He has been awarded for many times, including the Nobel Prize.
