The Rise of Digital Enterprise -- a Lecture from Director and Chairman of McKinsey Asia


In the evening of 20th march 2014, Mr. Gordon Orr, the director and chairman of McKinsey Asia, was invited to host a special lecture about “The rise of digital enterprise” in Jinan University. Mr. Alastair Morgan, the consul of British Consulate, and Mr. Angus Bjarnaso, the director of Culture and Education Office of British Consulate, accompanied with Mr. Gordon Orr. Before the lecture started, Pro.Hu Jun, the president of JNU, Pro. Yu Huifen, the director of International Affairs Office, Pro. Tan Yue, the dean of School of Management, and Dr. Deng Di, the dean assistant and MBA program director of School of Management, all held cordial exchange with the guests and extended a warmly welcome to their visit.

Then, Mr. Gordon Orr made a special lecture in Multi-Function Room 101 at School of Management. Firstly, he introduced the education experience of himself and the advanced concept of British education. Secondly, he analyzed several issues as follow: “How will digital technology influence the development of global economy in the next decade”, “What kind of job will be the choice of the future graduates?” and “How does education lay the foundation for your success in commercial field”.

The atmosphere of the lecture was harmonious and Mr. Gordon Orr’s humorous caused bursts of applause. In the question and answer session, students shared the opinion freely with Mr. Gordon Orr. His explanations about the business development trend and the employment problem after graduate helped the student to think deeply about and the major and their future.
