2014 MBA Study Trip to VANKE Headquarter

30 students from P1, P2 and P3 of 2014 class started the learning journey to Shenzhen on April 22. The destination of this journey is the Vanke headquarter which is located next to the Dameisha scenic spot of Yantian District, Shenzhen.

After the two-hour ride, we arrived at the Vanke Center, the Vanke headquarter. Following the guidance of Vanke’s HR Department, we visited the interior of the Vanke headquarter. The first introduction went to the new office building---Vanke Center. The building, designed by Steven Holl, is the first to adopt the stayed-cable design which takes into full consideration energy saving, landscapes, climates. Later, the students watched the documentary about Yu Liang climbing Everest. Short as it might be, it showed the Vanke’s spirit of facing challenges and changes. After watching the film, students visited the energy-saving conference room, reception hall, chatting rooms and other buildings. A variety of energy-saving design is not only thoughtful, leaving a deep impression on students, while also gives us some great inspiration. Moreover, when the students walked in the runway under the overhead office, they can enjoy the sport genes integrated into the corporate culture.

Interacting with the senior executives of Vanke’s HR Department was the highlight in the afternoon. Firstly, manager Xu of the department gave a great and interesting introduction to Vanke from aspects of the history, culture, business and talent training mechanism, etc. The students had a new understanding of Vanke after such a deep exchange. Afterwards, Mrs. Yang, the general HR manager, delivered a simple self introduction.

The crowd gave a warm applause after Mrs. Yang answered the last question. Mr. Zhu from MBA Center presented the precious gift to Vanke on behalf of the School. After the exchange, all the students and leaders of the HR Department took a group photo.

Stepping out of the Vanke Center, the students concluded that they not only had a wonderful journey but widened their horizons.
