Read a thousand books, travel a thousand miles. Jinan University 29 EMBA students from the real estate industry, high-tech industries, financial services, modern manufacturing, and other sectors of entrepreneurs and senior management personnel, went on a 13-days-courses and tours to Harvard University, and the West Point. Associate professor Guo Fan and Zhang Jihua, from School of Management go with us as course instructors. This Overseas Study Trip includes studying in famous institutions of higher education, visiting well-known companies, high-end exploration, cultural exchanges, and so on. This activity break the limitation of traditional classroom education, enable students to get cutting-edge theory and business information on the scene, and create broader business sources and human sources.

Having Classes

Harvard University is located in the Boston. It is known as one of the world's most prestigious university, because of its history, academic status, influence power, and wealth. Prof. Dr. Michael Gordon, from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, instructed us business innovation and acquisitions. In his class, he explain the importance of innovation and reveled that innovation is a process that a company must conduct in order to survive the fierce competition.

While in the West Point, the course Spirit and Leadership of the West Point , instructed by Ted Henshaw, a former US Army lieutenant colonel, director of the West Point Leadership Development Center, inspired us that leaders not only should set an good example, they also have to understand employees` need, and include employees in the decision-making process.

Visiting elite schools & companies

This trip also included visiting elite universities, like MIT, Yale and Columbia University and so on, and top companies, such as global headquarter of Bloomberg, headquarter of Google, the Rockefeller family estate and so on.

According to the students, they have expanded their horizons and learned a lot of knowledage on Business Administration during the trip, it has been a wonderful treasure in their lives.
